Define Virtue and Relativism Relativism is the idea that ones beliefs and values ar understood in terms of ones society, culture, or even ones own individual values. Virtue is a classification within normative ethics that attempts to discover and classify what might be deemed of moral char achievementer. (Gowdy, 2010) One example of something that one culture might regard as a virtue that another culture might not. For example I am a Christian and my sister-in-law is Muslim. As a Christian person I celebrate on the whole Holidays and believe that g od is my creator. As for my sister-in-law she does not celebrate Christian Holidays because they dont believe That Jesus Christ was the Son of God.I believe this could be relativism because both of our culture believe in God or what Muslim say Allah which is the same word for God. As in our text it say Virtue ethics focuses on the persons character and what makes, in general, a person good (virtuous) person.
